irishmurr > I have a beautiful flower arrangement sitting on my dining room table, which was just screaming "daily photo." It's from the wedding on Saturday. Since the bride and groom are off on their honeymoon, the Moms got the roses -- which definitely works for me. :-)

irishmurr > I wanted to try another shot of Maeve in this outfit .... before she outgrows it entirely. (July 7, 2009)

I want to thank everyone for the comments on my seal photo yesterday. He was in a tank and when we looked down, there he was -- up against the wall we were leaning on. I held the camera out over his head and snapped -- so it was more luck than anything. Although I do suspect he thought that was a fish I was holding, and not a camera. :-)
irishmurr > Summertime

This is another shot from Michael's baseball game on Sunday. When the sprinklers started running on the football field next to the baseball diamonds, all the kids who weren't playing baseball had a good time. I was almost ready to join them! (June 8, 2009)

irishmurr > It was a rainy, dreary day around here -- but luckily, I have flowers in the house. (July 23, 2009)

"When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not."

irishmurr > My first Monarch!

I know this isn't nearly as beautiful as some of the butterfly photos I've seen on the dailies and I even managed to chop off the top of his wings, but it's my first Monarch (outside of a butterfly display). Ann was showing me the flower she had taken a shot of a few days ago, when this Monarch suddenly landed right in front of us. I tried focusing quickly ... and then he was gone.

I think I could get to liking this wildlife photography stuff .... :-)

irishmurr > My favorite snapshot, in a day of snapshots. I managed to get nine of the ten children to actually sit for the photo (Maeve was napping at the time so we excused her) and got five or six of them to sort of look my way ....

This was the 8th year we've done our Big Eggstravaganza, where the kids color Easter eggs and while they're busy doing that, the Easter bunny hides eggs in our yard and our neighbor's yard. We've added more kids as the years have gone by, but they haven't gotten so old that it's not cool anymore. A couple weeks before, they're all checking with us to make sure we're still doing it. It was definitely a fun day! (April 11, 2009)
