irishmurr > Play Ball!

I can dream, can't I? We actually are already scheduling events for 2010 for our Cadillac club and next year plan on doing a show at Classic Park. We'll have all those lovely Cadillacs and LaSalles parked around the stadium during the day, and then parade them around the field before the game. Watch a little baseball and see a fireworks display -- doesn't get much better than that, does it? Actually, maybe our Ohio smuggers should think about making this a little get-together for us next summer? Plenty of photo ops, that's for sure! (November 7, 2009)

"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
   ~~ Rogers Hornsby
irishmurr > We had some warm weather -- which meant I was able to see those chubby legs I love so much. (November 6, 2009)

"Thin people are beautiful, but fat people are adorable.”
   ~~ Jackie Gleason
irishmurr > sssshhhh, don't tell Mr. Turkey .... but three weeks from today is Thanksgiving. :-)
(November 5, 2009)

"What we're really talking about is a wonderful day set aside on the fourth Thursday of November when no one diets. I mean, why else would they call it Thanksgiving?"
   ~~ Erma Bombeck
irishmurr > With shorter days and cooler temperatures, I figured I'd better get used to taking shots inside again. (November 4, 2009)

"Why do we love the sea? It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think."
   ~~ Robert Henri
irishmurr > Election Day. (November 3, 2009)

"Do you ever get the feeling that the only reason we have elections is to find out if the polls were right?"
   ~~ Robert Orben
irishmurr > It was getting close to my bedtime and I was without a daily -- until I spotted the candy left over from Halloween. (November 2, 2009)

"There's a thin person inside of me screaming to get out, but I keep her sedated with chocolate."
   ~~ Bumper Sticker
irishmurr > I promise this is my last Maeve-in-the-chicken-outfit photo. She was in such a hurry Halloween evening, I wanted to try and get a little better shot of her today in this year's costume. (November 1, 2009)

"Better a broken promise than none at all.”
   ~~ Mark Twain
irishmurr > Here's a quick shot of three girls anxious to get out there trick-or-treating. :-)

Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! (October 31, 2009)

"Nothing on Earth so beautiful as the final haul on Halloween night."
   ~~ Steve Almond
irishmurr > I think we're ready for All Hallows Eve.

This is about how I felt earlier this week, but I'm doing much better now. Thanks for all your well-wishes. They did cheer me up immensely! (October 30, 2009)

"Double, double toil and trouble; fire burn and cauldron bubble."
   ~~ Shakespeare
irishmurr > On the inside looking out.

I've been house-ridden for two days now with aches, pains, cough -- you name it, I was suffering from it. I felt good enough today to at least open the door and take this shot, before wrapping back up in my afghan. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be back to normal ....... I can hope, can't I? (October 28, 2009)

"Serious illness doesn't bother me for long because I am too inhospitable a host.”
    ~~ Albert Schweitzer
irishmurr > I had to attempt a shot of the roses the hubster got me last week before they're gone. (October 25, 2009)

"A rose is a rose is a rose."
   ~~ Gertrude Stein
irishmurr > The leaves are still falling. (October 24, 2009)

"Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.”
    ~~ Emily Bronte
irishmurr > We went to a Halloween party tonight. Can you tell it was at the Irish club? :-)
(October 23, 2009)

"May you always have walls for the winds, a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire,
laughter to cheer you, those you love near you, and all your heart might desire."
   ~~ Irish Blessing

irishmurr > We went out to dinner and behind the restaurant was this gorgeous view! (October 22, 2009)

   ~~ Henry Beston
irishmurr > We're enjoying a few days of Indian Summer and it feels so good to be outside. (October 21, 2009)

"Bittersweet October. The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter."
    ~~ Carol Bishop Hipps
