DailyPhotos > irishmurr  > Photography > Daily Photos (July - Dec. 2008)
I have a Canon Rebel XT and a EF 28-135mm lens, a EF 75-300mm lens and a EFS 60mm Macro lens (all Canon). I've never really done any pp, but just got Photoshop Elements, so wish me luck!

I began posting on the daily photos community almost two years ago and hope that making this effort on a daily basis has helped to improve my photography skills -- but realize that I still have a long way to go! Any suggestions for improvement are greatly appreciated.

While my daily photos from 2007, can be found here.

If anyone would like to contact me, my e-mail is irishmurr57@yahoo.com.

Is pretend that nothing can frighten you
An' if somethin' scares you and you want to run
Jus' let on like it's Hallowe'en fun."

irishmurr > Know the difference between a toddler and a newborn?

It began when my mother-in-law gave me this Brownie, so while others have come after it, this is my favorite. (October 28, 2008)

"The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking."
   ~~ Brooks Atkinson

btw, I loved Gail's swan photo, which made me think about my mother-in-law, which made me think about this camera .... so thanks for the inspiration Gail! :-)

Of soft and golden hue
Pierce through the future’s veil and show
What fate now holds for you."
   ~~ Author Unknown
irishmurr > The eighties were good to us.

I thought I'd be able to bring you a cute Johnny photo for my daily today, but Johnny decided he'd rather take a two hour nap. Spent the rest of the day getting ready for a family get-together tomorrow, so instead of bringing you a shot of the cherry almond cheesecake I was baking or the table I just dusted, I bring you this: some photo booth shots of Larry and I taken back in the '80s. We just came across these today -- and can't believe how young we looked then! Or is it how old we look now? :-)
(October 24, 2008)

"Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been."
   ~~ Mark Twain

Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone."

   ~~ Anonymous
irishmurr > I thought I'd better take a shot of my mums while they're still around. I've had to cover them once already and could've sworn I heard the words "wintry mix" in tonight's forecast. (October 21, 2008)

"Last night, there came a frost, which has done great damage to my garden.... It is sad that Nature will play such tricks on us poor mortals, inviting us with sunny smiles to confide in her, and then, when we are entirely within her power, striking us to the heart."
   ~~ Nathaniel Hawthorne
irishmurr > Johnny in the pumpkin patch.

I spent most of my free time today working on photos from yesterday, so that's what you get -- a photo from yesterday. (October 20, 2008)

Hillary mentioned Johnny's outfit -- well, check it out from the front! :-)
