To honor Carole's Mom on her birthday, we put together this album of some of the pictures we have of her throughout her life.
Happy Birthday Mom!

This is probably our earliest picture of Carole's Mom, Amma. The family story goes that on the day Amma's mother was giving birth to daughter Geneva (the next one in line after Amma), a traveling photographer came around and took some pictures. We have a great one of Amma's grandmothers standing next to each other, and some other family members as well. This one is of Amma and her Aunt Trula (her mother's twin sister). So, according to family history, this photo was taken on February 11, 1942, five days after Amma celebrated her 3rd birthday!
This is one of our favorite family photos: Amma sitting on the lap of her Grandpa Maddron (Benjamin Richard Maddron.)
One of Amma's school pictures. This one was taken in 1947, when she was 8.
When Carole was about that age and people saw this picture, they all said how much she looked like her Mom!

Amma at about age 16 with future husband, Billy King. (1955)
We're not certain when this picture was taken, but Amma was obviously young in it!
Amma in the spring of 1958 with daughters Debby and Carole.
The family usually went down to visit in Tennessee during the last two weeks of July, so we figure this picture of Amma, Billy and their daughters, Carole and Debby, was taken in July 1958.
We know when this picture was taken, because it's marked Debby's second birthday -- making it October 22, 1958!
