With another week of vacation and not much planned, we decided to head over to South Bend, Indiana -- and take MacCaila along with us for the trip.
Our first stop of this vacation was to the bookstore at Notre Dame, so MacCaila could buy her latest cheerleader outfit. We've been buying them for her since she was born and thought this year she could pick it out herself, since she was actually going to be at the University.
It was a really hot and humid day, so we just strolled around the campus for a little while. We did, however, point out to MacCaila what a great place this would be to go to college (hint, hint)!

We drove by the Notre Dame football stadium, where MacCaila perched atop the statue of Moose Krause for this adorable shot. (August 2, 2005)

Right across the street, MacCaila also posed for a picture on the Coach Frank Leahy statue. With all the history of the Notre Dame campus, we could have been taking pictures all day! (August 2, 2005)

We found a perfect place to stay in South Bend, when we came upon the Innisfree Celtic bed-and-breakfast. We had the entire third floor of the home, which gave us plenty of room. MacCaila originally said she was going to sleep in this bed, but of course ended up between Daideo and Maimeo. Luckily our bed was king-sized, so there was plenty of room for us all. (August 2, 2005)

In our bathroom there was a small vanity, perfect for Mac to use to apply her lipstick -- in case we saw any hotties! (August 2, 2005)

On the second floor of the Innisfree there was this wonderful little sitting area, which MacCaila took advantage of to rock her baby Noodles -- who, of course, accompanied us on our trip. (August 2, 2005)

"Please, please, please .... I beg of you." We can't even remember what Mac was asking for when we took this shot, but what grandparent could resist this plea? (August 2, 2005)

The owners of the Innisfree had relatives staying there when we visited, with sixteen month old Nathan along, so MacCaila was happy to have someone to play with. Here they are climbing up and down the back staircase. (August 2, 2005)

The Murrays in the tower of the Innisfree Celtic bed-and-breakfast in South Bend, Indiana. MacCaila saw our rooms from the outside of the house and since one of the nooks was a turret, she declared we were sleeping in the tower -- just like Sleeping Beauty! (August 2, 2005)
