We had an absolutely beautiful fall day and decided to take advantage of the nice weather and head out on a driving tour of covered bridges in Ashtabula County. We began with the one on Netcher Road, which is the county's newest covered bridge. (October 21, 2007)

The Netcher Road covered bridge features a timber arch with inverted Haupt walls. The "Neo victorian" design structure is 110 feet long, 22 feet wide, and 14 feet six inches high. (October 21, 2007)

Our next stop was at the South Denmark Road covered bridge. It was built in 1890 and is a Town lattice bridge. (October 21, 2007)

The South Denmark Road covered bridge is 81 feet long. It was bypassed in 1975, but is still easily accessible and yes, we did drive across it. (October 21, 2007)

This is the Caine Road covered bridge. The 124 foot long bridge traverses the west branch of the Ashtabula River in Pierpont Township. (October 21, 2007)

The Caine Road covered bridge is the first Pratt truss bridge in Ohio and was built in 1986 in honor of Ashtabula County's 175th Anniversary. (October 21, 2007)
