I have a Canon Rebel XT and a EF 28-135mm lens, a EF 75-300mm lens and a EFS 60mm Macro lens (all Canon) -- and no Photoshop. So, what I see is what you get!

I began this as an effort to improve my photography skills and it's turned into a sort of diary of my life, basically because I spend so much time with my family and friends. Therefore, they've become the subject of so many of my photos. It's kind of hard to get out and take photos of other things when you have a house full of kids and grandkids -- not that I'm complaining, mind you. I hope I am still improving at photography. I'm picking up the camera every day -- well, at least most days. I am putting thought into my images and the settings on my camera, etc. Any suggestions for improvement are greatly appreciated.

If anyone would like to contact me, my e-mail is irishmurr57@yahoo.com.

Look who came home from the hospital today! Colin's doctor surprised us by releasing him early. He's still under 5 pounds, but eating well and maintaining his body temperature -- and he passed all of his tests with flying colors! (September 20, 2007)

Welcome to my world.

I was all set to catch MacCaila's reaction when I gave her the good news that her brother might be leaving the hospital in two days, when my loving husband stuck his hand -- pinky ring and all -- into the shot. (September 19, 2007)

It's amazing how much excitement can be generated by one tiny baby drinking two ounces of formula from a bottle. That was our little man's accomplishment today! (September 18, 2007)

"These things, I warmly wish for you-
Someone to love,
Some work to do,
A bit of o’ sun
A bit o’ cheer
And a guardian angel
Always near."

Picking MacCaila up from school ... visiting her baby brother in the hospital ... then home in time to eat dinner, do homework, take a bath and read a bedtime story. Now I know why parents put their children to bed at 8:00. I'm exhausted! (September 17, 2007)

After spending the afternoon holding tiny little Colin at the hospital, it made John look like he's half grown -- and he's only 6 months old himself! (September 16, 2007)

Grandma holding Colin for the first time!

Some of you may have noticed that I'm not real fond of getting in the photo myself -- but in this case, I'll make an exception. (September 15, 2007)

MacCaila picked today's dp, because she wanted to show everyone the photo of her with her new baby brother! Colin Michael arrived today (even though the due date wasn't until October 26!), weighing 4 pds. 13 ozs. He's 17 1/2" long, so he's definitely long and lean! (September 13, 2007)

"You're going to have three babies on your lap now ..... maybe you need to grow a couple more legs!"
~~ MacCaila Murray's comment to grandma upon the arrival of her baby brother

I may be a little scarce over the next few days, but I will catch up with everyone's photos as I can. With our daughter in one hospital, our grandson in another, and a 6 year old who needs to get back and forth to school .....

This isn't a photo from today, but one from St. Patrick's Day 2005. Since today is Lisa's birthday, I thought I'd pull it out and use it for my dp. Happy Birthday Lee Lee!

I wanted to try and create a peaceful, serene feeling with today's dp. Our daughter Lisa's fiancee -- the infamous Uncle Brian of earlier shots -- lost his brother very unexpectedly today. Serenity and peacefulness is what we wish for him and his family today. (September 10, 2007)
