The Stinnett Coat of Arms

Elizabeth Wilkerson (b. 4/9/1798) married a man by the name of McKissick and had a son, Alexander. After McKissick's death, she married John Stinnett and went on to have seven more children. Alexander took the name Stinnett and was thought to be his mother's favorite. "Old Betts," as Elizabeth was called, has been referred to as a "hellcat on wheels!" She was Carole's gggg grandmother; her son Alexander was Carole's ggg grandfather.

This has not been confirmed, but is thought to be a photo of Old John Stinnett (1760 - 1831) and Elizabeth Wilkerson Stinnett (b. 1798). Many thanks to Altrice Stinnett for sharing this photo!

Alexander Stinnett (7/18/1812 - 7/21/1877) married Elmina Ball in 1832. They had fourteen children.

Elmina Ball (Stinnett) (1/31/1812 - 6/19/1893) was a daughter of Osborne (Ausburn) Ball and Martha Thomason. She married Alexander Stinnett. Their son, Jackson C. Stinnett, was Carole's gg grandfather. Elmina is buried in Stinnett Cemetery in Jones Cove, TN, along with Carole's grandparents and many other family members.

He first married a woman by the name of Sarah; he then married Jane McMahan and had two sons, Ira and Richard Jayhugh. He then married Lucinda Roberts and had sons James and John. He had no children with his last two wives, Lydia Breeden and Celia ??

Richard Jayhugh (1870 - 1918) was a son of Jahu and Jane (McMahan) Stinnett, and grandson of Alexander and Elmina (Ball) Stinnett.

Katie was born in 1873 and died in 1946.
